Brief Biography
Dr. Michael Kozhevnikov is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering at Norfolk State University. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in physics and engineering from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Russia. He received his second M.Sc. and Ph.D. in physics from Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Israel. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University, Cambridge MA and a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of California at Santa Barbara, CA.

He previously held a position of a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies, Murray Hill NJ, and a Senior Research Scientist, Lenterra, NJ. Michael Kozhevnikov’s research interests include human-computer interaction, virtual reality and visualization, photonics and optical communications, and engineering and science education. Dr. Kozhevnikov is a member of IEEE Photonics Society, Materials Research Society (MRS) and Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE). Dr. Kozhevnikov authored over 30 peer-reviewed journal publications.
