Congratulations on your acceptance Norfolk State University! We believe that you will be an excellent addition to the Spartan family and we are excited to welcome you to campus. Follow this checklist to complete the enrollment process:

Next Steps for Admitted Transfer Students

Once you have been admitted please follow the steps below to complete the enrollment process.

  • Step 1 - Access Student Email & MyNSU

  • Step 2 - Confirm for Enrollment

    Step Three: Confirm your Enrollment

    Navigate to MyNSU to access the link to set-up your NSU email account. Upon completion, please click the Spartan Self-Service tab within MyNSU to pay the required deposits.  Once you have made a payment, you will receive a confirmation email with your NSU New Student Orientation code. 
     
    Payments are also accepted by calling Norfolk State University's Cashier Office.  Please call 757-823-8545 for assistance.

  • Step 3 - Complete On-Campus Housing Application

    Step Three: Complete the on-campus housing application

    The housing application fee is $300.

  • Step 4 - Complete & Submit Required Health Forms

    Step Four: Complete and submit required health forms

    Please return completed health forms to the University Health Center

  • Step 5 - Register for Online Transfer Orientation

    Step Five: Register for transfer orientation

    Orientation is required for all transfers.  The fee for orientation is $100.  This must be paid prior to reserving your orientation date.  Payments can be made through your MyNSU account or over the phone at 757-823-8545.  After payment has been made, you will receive a confirmation code that you will use to register for your session.  Please click here to register

Enrollment Checklist for Entering Freshman Students.

  • For Admission

    For admission: Submit the undergraduate application, the $25 application fee, and any required documents to Undergraduate Admissions by May 1 for priority consideration. www.nsu.edu/behold.

  • For Financial Aid

    For financial aid: You must be admitted to NSU, have the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completely processed, and have submitted any required documents to the Financial Aid Office by October 1 for priority consideration.  www.nsu.edu/Admissions-Aid/Apply-to-NSU/Tuition-and-Financial-Aid

  • For Scholarships

    For scholarships: The scholarship application is located at www.nsu.edu/financialaid/scholarships .

  • Freshman Enrollment Deposit

    Freshman Enrollment Deposit: Once admitted, submit a $100 nonrefundable freshman enrollment deposit.

  • For Housing

    For housing: Complete the residence hall housing contract at www.nsu.edu/residentiallife/apply-for-housing  and submit the $300 housing application fee and prepayment to Housing and Residential Communities. Important dates and details about the housing application are available at www.nsu.edu/residentiallife.  

  • For Orientation

    For orientation: Register for New Student Orientation at https://www.nsu.edu/nso/orientation-preview .

  • For Health Services

    For health services: Submit the health and immunization forms to the Spartan Student Health Center at https://nsuhealthcenter.com.

Now that you have paid your enrollment deposit and made arrangements for housing, your next step is to register for New Student Orientation!

New Student Orientation is a comprehensive, personal orientation program aimed at connecting you with the academic culture, campus climate, and student community at Norfolk State University. Please use the information contained in these web pages to pave your way toward an amazing student experience.
