Research
From Spring 2000 until Summer 2001, researchers (currently the collective body, Consortium for Strategic and Global Studies) through the Office for Research competed for and successfully acquired contracts from the United States Department of Defense (DOD).
These contracts were designed to provide focused research and baseline information on designated "low priority countries." While the focus of this research was labeled "government overview," "country overview" and "military leadership" the basic
analysis for this research and each of the countries under the allotted categories included:
- Geographic Assessment
- Geopolitical Analysis
- Contemporary political history and political and governmental development
- Contemporary organizational and political leadership analysis.
- Examination of the emergence and development of insurgent groups
- Constitutional Analysis, This analysis places the country examined in the context of its Government's evaluation and development. At the same time, this analysis provides the foundation for assessing a nations international relationships and foreign policy perspectives.
- Military and Political Analysis correlations between political and military careers were examined in specified countries.
While this research was essentially completed in 2001, it has been the basis for updated analysis. Recently, this updated analysis has provided the framework for presentations lectures, symposiums and media interviews on aspects of:
- Globalism
- International Relationships
- Foreign Policy
- Homeland Security
- Terrorism
- Warfare
The Consortium for Strategic and Global Studies has to date:
- Conducted government military and political research and analysis of 165 countries for the United States Department of Defense.
- Sponsored public forums and symposiums on national security, terrorism, homeland security and warfare
- Acted as a resource for community organizations, broadcast and print media
- Participated in area, regional and national debates and panels on issues related to globalism and national security
- Provided guest lecturers for universities in the United States, China and Africa
- Developed resources for information exchange including a website, web magazine and web radio broadcast
