The Computer Science Department, in keeping with the University's mission, provides qualitative and varied education experiences for students. Computer Science Students are prepared for career opportunities or graduate study in the area of Computer Science. In addition, the Department provides service courses to assist students of all majors in mastering fundamental computer concepts and a variety of programming languages.

The program was initiated in 1982 as an outgrowth of a Mathematics Degree program. The number of majors enrolled in computer science has grown over the last 31 years. The Department is located in the remodeled Robinson Technology Center (RTC). Instructional and research facilities are also located in this building.
