Biography:
Doyle Temple is a Professor of Physics and faculty member of the Center for Materials Research where he leads the Quantum Electronics Research Group and the Crystal Physics and Quantum Electronics Laboratory. His research interests include ultrashort pulse laser-matter interactions, quantum materials and devices, quantum computing, and physics education and outreach.  He has been principal investigator on over $27M in grants, author of over 110 scientific presentations/publications, and one patent. In 2010, he received the Virginia Outstanding Faculty Award from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and he was elected Senior Member of the Optical Society of America.
