Moore to Deliver State of University Address
(NSU NEWSROOM--Aug. 2, 2014)--Norfolk State University Interim President and CEO Eddie N. Moore Jr. will deliver the State of the University address to kick off the institution’s fall 2014 Opening Session at 9 a.m. on Aug. 11 at the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center.
The theme for the 2014-2015 academic year is “Forging Onward.” The president will set the tone for NSU and its operations during the upcoming academic year and beyond. Moore is expected to provide a vision for the University and share how current students, faculty, staff and alumni can help NSU continue to make an impact regionally, nationally and globally.
The interim president will introduce key administrative objectives to help the University establish greater fiscal responsibility and integrity, and propel the nearly 80-year-old public institution of higher learning into the future.
Moore will also provide updates on how the University has forged ahead and has positively responded to compliance issues surrounding last year’s accreditation warning from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. He will address how the University has completed several fiscal audits and continues to work with state officials.
The address will be followed by several workshops and presentations for faculty. Opening session activities will conclude on Aug. 12 at 6 p.m. when the annual Freshman Convocation is held at the Wilder Performing Arts Center.
