  Gas Main Leak Interrupts
  Classes on West End Campus

A gas line break reported at the Norfolk State University on Nov. 22 briefly interrupted classes at the west end of campus.

Shortly after 10 a.m., NSU Campus police responded to a report of a broken gas line and evacuated faculty, staff and students from the Hamm Fine Arts Building, Scott Hall, Rosa Alexander Residence Hall, Wilder Performing Arts Center and the West Cafeteria.

The Norfolk City Fire Department and Virginia Natural Gas responded to the scene and a gas company crew repaired the punctured gas line. The crew shut down the gas at the location so students and personnel could return to the buildings.

No injuries were reported and there was no damage to structures on campus.
