Office Professionals Recognized
Catherine Coyle, administrative assistant for the Early Childhood, Elementary and Special Education Department, and Velma Jones, administrative/program support specialist at the Lyman Beecher Brooks Library, were recognized by the National Association of Educational Office Professionals at its 79th Annual Conference and Institute. They were honored at the Professional Standards Program (PSP) Banquet for their professional and personal accomplishments. Coyle received her PSP at the master’s degree, option II level and the certified educational office employee distinction, while Jones received the PSP at the advanced 1, option 1 level. Both are members of the Norfolk State University Association of Educational Office Professionals (NSUAEOP). Additionally, during a meeting of the Mid-Atlantic region, two NSUAEOP members were elected to national committees—Cleopatra Riddick, scholarship manager in the Financial Aid Office, will sit on the student scholarships committee and April Allbritton, office manager in the President’s Office, will serve on long range planning.
