NSU Newsroom--(July 2, 2013)--Norfolk State University has reached its 2012-2013 annual fund goal of $2 million, announced University President Tony Atwater this morning.

More than 2,000 faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of Norfolk State supported the “I AM NSU” campaign.  “I am thankful for the generous support of those who helped NSU reach its annual fund goal. Funds raised will continue to provide much-needed support for students, academic programs, and student-centered services,” said Atwater.

The “I AM NSU” campaign was spear headed by Honorary Co-Chairs Ernest M. Hodge, ’75, and Dr. Melvin T. Stith, ’68.  Danielle Smith Jones,’00, served as campaign General Chair.

“I want to specifically thank the Honorary Co-Chairs and the General Chair for their hard work and commitment to NSU.  We could not have had a better campaign leadership team.  Each tirelessly worked to galvanize constituency support and, as a direct result, the University was able to successfully meet its campaign goal,” said Atwater.

Plans are underway to host a campaign celebration within the next few weeks.
