Outreach Initiative (SCAS)

The Spartan Crusade for Academic Success (SCAS) Outreach Initiative is a Pre-K to 16 framework intended and designed to improve college readiness and access to higher education. In collaboration with community and private partners, the SCAS Outreach Initiative is a multifaceted approach to prepare cohorts of youth, teachers, and respective schools to address the systemic barriers that impede student achievement and college degree attainment. SCAS Outreach Programs will enhance targeted recruitment of low and middle-income students from select middle and high schools by increasing dual enrollment, advance placement credit, summer bridge programs and summer honors college offerings.

Outreach Programs:

  • Hampton Roads Area Public Schools Grades PreK-12 academic and recreational enrichment
  • After school Tutoring/ Mentoring Service-Learning program
  • Career, Technical and Consumer Education
  • Health Education
  • STEM Education
  • Community Garden and Sustainable Living

  • Lynnhaven Elementary School
