The Division of Research and Economic Development at Norfolk State University is responsible for the planning, implementation, and utilization of technology for an effective and efficient discharge of the University's business. The division is also responsible for acquiring external funding support for sponsored program activities and encouraging and sustaining faculty and staff interests in these endeavors. The Division of Research and Economic Development provides a critical interface between Norfolk State University (NSU) and the Enterprise and Empowerment Foundation (E2F) that oversees the RISE project, directed by Mr. Terry V. Stokes and the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), directed by Mrs. Paula Shaw.
SACSCOC Comprehensive Standard 188.8.131.52 requires each research unit to (i) identify expected outcomes, (ii) assess the extent to which it achieves these outcomes, and (iii) provide evidence of improvement based on analysis of the results.
