Welcome to NSU Blackboard Learn Ultra!
NSUOnline is delighted to announce that Norfolk State is transitioning from Bb Learn to Bb Learn with the Ultra Experience! This new platform is more personalized, proactive, and intuitive for faculty and students, providing a new navigation design and Activity Stream. The Ultra experience is fully responsive across the entire learning management system – including Bb Ultra Courses, Bb Collaborate, and Bb Student mobile app. The new interface provides a more seamless transition between mobile and desktop devices, allowing students to move easily between app and browser.
What you can expect from Bb Ultra:
- User experience will be simpler, more intuitive, and engaging.
- Bb Ultra is fully responsive – meaning it will work seamlessly on all devices, including computer, laptop, phone, and iPad.
- All course and organization information – like calendar, messages, and grades – is consolidated into one global view, minimizing the time spent navigating into each course.
- The Activity Stream gives faculty and students an organized list of everything that's happening in all their courses.
- Holistic Grades create a way to view your entire workload in one area.
- Tabs along the top of each page will disappear and be replaced by the left sidebar of the new interface.
The Blackboard Ultra migration will happen in two phases:
- During Phase I, (May 2022) the Ultra “Base Navigation” design will be deployed. This action will enhance the look and feel of Blackboard’s landing pages to include a cleaner and more modern appearance. Courses will not be affected and will remain in the “Original” Bb view.
- During Phase II, (Fall 2022), there will be an update of all new courses to the Ultra view. Information and support for the migration of your “Original” courses will be provided to ensure a smooth transition.
