Norfolk State University’s computer science degree program made the list of most affordable online degree programs released by the SR Education Group. The education publisher, founded in 2004, just issued a new report of the 2017 Most Affordable Online Master’s Degrees. The 23 schools ranked offer the most affordable online computer science master's degrees, with Norfolk State coming in among the top 20 schools with the most affordable online programs. NSU’s program offers students four choices of study:
- General Study in Computer Science
- Emphasis in Information Assurance
- Emphasis in Computational Science and Engineering
- Emphasis in Communication Networks
The curriculum for the Master of Science in Computer Science requires the successful completion of 36 credits of course work, including a thesis (6 credits), or 33 graduate credit hours of course work including a project (3 credits). All degree requirements must be completed within four calendar years. No more than 6 graduate credits may be transferred from other graduate schools. Full-time students starting with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science should expect to complete the master of science degree in 1½ to 2 years.
