Norfolk State University’s Department of Nursing and Allied Health, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Honor Society held its induction ceremony at Scott/Dozier Ballroom April 12. For almost 60 years, the Department of Nursing and Allied Health has been educating students using programs that reflect high quality and standards. The BSN Honor Society inductees have demonstrated such quality with their spirit of excellence. Membership in the society is by invitation only to those nursing students who have demonstrated superior academic achievement, academic integrity and professional leadership.
The NSU BSN Honor Society inductees were: Oliver S. Babirye, Deborah E. Chamberlain-Loving, Brittany L. Corbett, Suzanne Scott and Diana Stankiewicz.
Dr. Lydia Figueroa, chair of the Nursing and Allied Health Department, served as the officiant and introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. Francis C, Gray, assistant professor in the nursing program. Jean McNair Watson ’57, a graduate of the first nursing class at NSU, also participated in the ceremony.
