The mission of the College of Liberal Arts is to provide a transformative education that enables students to maximize their potential to become creative, independent thinkers and lifelong learners who adapt and contribute ethically to evolving national and international societies. The College of Liberal Arts embraces seven academic departments in the fine and performing arts, humanities, and social sciences. The departments are English and Foreign Languages, Visual and Performing Arts, (which includes Music, Fine Arts, and Theater); History and Interdisciplinary Studies (HINTS); Mass Communications and Journalism; Political Science; Psychology; and Sociology. Army ROTC, General Studies, and WNSB are located in the College of Liberal Arts. Students in the College of Liberal Arts have access to a wealth of learning experiences.
