Scholarships

Please fill out the Recommendation Request Form. This form must be completed and returned at least three weeks (excluding holidays and final exam weeks) before the letter is needed.

The Barnes & Noble Scholarship

Criteria:
Incoming full-time Freshmen; 3.0 GPA or above; 1080 combined SAT (Math + Verbal) or 21 ACT. Continuing students also eligible. Students expected to complete 30 hours of Honors courses. Transfer students not eligible. - Application

The Norfolk 17 Honors College Scholarship

Criteria:
Incoming full-time freshmen or incoming full-time transfers with an associate’s degree; 3.0 GPA or above for both categories; 1080 combined SAT (Math + Verbal) or 21 ACT for entering freshmen only. Students are expected to complete 30 hours of Honors courses at NSU if freshmen; 18 hours if transfers with associate’s degree. Amount of award: $2,500 per year. Renewable. - Application

The Robert C. Nusbaum Honors College Scholarship

Criteria:
This scholarship is for incoming full-time freshmen or incoming full-time transfers with an associate’s degree and demonstrable financial need. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or above for both categories and at least a 1080 combined SAT (Math + Verbal) or 21 ACT for entering freshmen only. Students are required to complete 30 credit hours of Honors courses at NSU including the designated capstone, or 18 H hours if a student transfers in with an associate’s degree. Amount of award: $4,000 per year for 4 years. Student must meet all Honors College standards. - Application

The William L. Craig, Jr., Scholarship

Criteria:
3.0 GPA or above; Entering Freshmen must have a 1080 combined SAT (Math + Verbal) or 21 ACT. Students expected to complete 30 hours of Honors courses. Continuing students with a 3.0 or above also eligible. Transfer students ineligible. - Application
