The Child Development Lab is affiliated with the School of Education. It is a full time service program serving children ages 2 ½ through 4 ½ years old. The program has operated as a full day program since 1980. It has a long history of laying a strong foundation for young children’s education for many years. Faculty & Staff Listing
The NSU Child Development Laboratory is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) – the nation’s leading organization for early childhood professionals. The program is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services. Licensing assures parents and the community that our program provides sound supervision, protection, and the total well-being of children. Our program also participates in Virginia’s Star Quality Initiative (VSQI).
The program’s academic months are September through May and our summer program operates during the months of June and July.
The CDL is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
We encourage that children arrive by 9:00 a.m. to receive full benefit of the program.
