The Child Development Lab is affiliated with the School of Education. It is a full and part time early childhood and care program for children ages 2 ½ through 4 ½ years old. We have been in operation since 1979. Our program has a long history of laying a strong foundation for young children’s education. Faculty & Staff Listing
The NSU Child Development Laboratory is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) – the nation’s leading organization for early childhood professionals. Our program also participates in Virginia Quality, formally Virginia Star Quality Initiative (VSQI). Virginia Quality is Virginia’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) which assists child care and preschool programs in providing high quality early care and education services to families.
The program’s academic months are September through May and our summer program operates during the months of June and July.
The CDL is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
We encourage that children arrive by 9:00 a.m. to receive full benefit of the program.
