Giving to IA-REDI

Norfolk State University is an institution of higher learning that strives to provide a quality education for all of its students. NSU is proud to be one of the nation’s largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and serves many students who are the first in their families to attend college.

Although NSU is a public University to which the Commonwealth of Virginia provides funding, that funding comprises only 34% of the University's annual budget. NSU relies on grants and private giving to supplement the state’s funding so that we can fulfill our mission “to provide an affordable high quality education for an ethnically and culturally diverse population, equipping them with the capability to become productive citizens who continuously contribute to a global and rapidly changing society.”

IA-REDI support several students on partial scholarships, making up shortfalls in financial support and providing text books. We also provide internships in the institute to provide support and cybersecurity experience and to develop research skills. As we attempt to expand our support for students as well as to fulfill our mandate, we are seeking financial support and donations from our alumni and friends. This support can be in the form of a check or credit card and will be deposited into a foundation account managed by the Norfolk State University Office of Advancement.
