Communications Network. The field of computer networks research covers a broad range, e.g., Internet, wireless sensor networks ad-hoc wireless networks, and optical networks to name a few. The challenging problems may vary significantly on different networks. However there are some common and fundamental problems such as routing, resource management, quality of service, and capacity planning. Some of our current research interests includes:

Cognitive wireless communications

  • Dynamic Spectrum Access
  • Software Defined Radio

Network security

  • Network defense
  • Network intrusion detection
  • Network forensics
  • Network steganography

Wireless data communications

  • Wireless sensor networks
  • Network modeling and simulation
  • Network performance analysis and optimization
  • Public safety wireless communications
