What is a Virtual Open House?
Norfolk State University is delighted to offer a Virtual Open House experience. During this event, you will have the opportunity to participate in various live virtual sessions, including the Freshmen Student Panel, Parent Resource Panel, Transfer Admissions and Services Session, and Graduate Admissions Session. Additionally, the event will feature five live panel discussions where you can engage with our esteemed faculty members. 

When is Virtual Open House?
The dates for Virtual Open House vary. We encourage you to check the NSU Event Calendar for updates on upcoming sessions. Please note that separate events are held for non-admitted and admitted students on different dates.

 

How do I register for In-person or Virtual Open House?
Registration information will be provided alongside the dates and times when it is posted to the Event Calendar. Please check the NSU Event Calendar for updates on registration details for both in-person and virtual Open House events.

How Can I Access the Virtual Open House?

  • For PC: To view the Virtual Open House on your computer, you can either download Zoom or use it in your browser. Click on the link provided for your desired Zoom session. If you have Zoom installed on your computer, it will open automatically. From there, you can choose to join the meeting with computer audio or via phone call.
  • For Phone/Tablet: To access the Virtual Open House on your phone or tablet, first download the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app. Once installed, click on the link for your desired Zoom session. This will take you directly into the Zoom meeting.

What If I Am Unable to Attend Virtual Open House?
If you are unable to attend our Spartan Experience, have no worries, all live sessions will be available in our video “On Demand” section of our Open House website. 

Will You Be Offering On-site Admissions at Open House?
Unfortunately, due to this being a live event we want to respect all applicants’ private decisions and one on one meetings with our Admissions Staff and will not provide an On-Site Session. However, you are more than welcome to set up a One on One Session with one of our amazing Admissions Counselors.

What If I Am Interested In More Than One College/School?
Have no worries, we will be recording all live sessions and linking them onto our “On Demand” section of our Open House Website.

Am I Able to Contact Faculty Members After Open House?
Yes, you are more than welcome to reach out to anyone of our faculty members after the event. Feel free to contact Admissions@nsu.edu or by phone at (757) 823-8396.

Will I Hear From Other Departments?
We will provide a list of all resources and departments with pre-recorded videos that you can access at any time in our “On Demand" section of our Open House website.

  • What is a Virtual Open House?

    Due to Covid-19, Norfolk State University has decided to offer a Spring 2022 Virtual Open House experience on March 26, 2022. During this event, you will have the opportunity to participate in one of our live virtual sessions, including the Freshmen Student Panel, Parent Resource Panel, Transfer Admissions and Services Session, and Graduate Admissions Session.

    The event will also include five live panel discussions where you can interact with our wonderful faculty members as they provide you with an overview of their academic departments and answer all questions.

  • When is Virtual Open House?

    Virtual Open House is Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

    Admitted Student Day (Admitted Students Only) is Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00p.m.

  • How Do I Register for In-person or Virtual Open House?

  • How Am I Able to View the Virtual Open House?

    PC Information
    You can either download Zoom onto your computer or use it in your browser. Click the link of your desired Zoom session.  

    • If you’ve downloaded Zoom onto your computer, you can allow it to open Zoom. You can choose to join with computer audio, or via phone call. You will be entered into the Zoom meeting.
