Future Teacher Academy

To you the student...

If you're here, you're one step closer to unlocking infinite possibilities during your educational journey. The School of Education recognizes the difficulties faced by preservice teachers all across the country with regard to passing exams such as the PRAXIS Core and VCLA. With the creation of the Future Teacher Academy (FTA), this is the perfect opportunity for prospective teachers to move forward in the quest to become a licensed teacher. The Future Teacher Academy is here to assist you with the exam and so much more! Take the time to find out more about us!

FTA Summer 2019 Workshops

Morning and Evening workshops for Praxis Math and VCLA are now going on for all education majors, July 8 through July 18, Mondays through Thursdays. Morning workshops are 9am to 1pm and Evening workshops are 4pm to 8pm. Those who participate in these workshops are provided with instructions, strategies, and tips relating to the Praxis Core Math and/or VCLA examinations.

As an FTA participant, the grant for this program covers all costs of the Praxis and VCLA examinations, allows instructional support and resources associated with initial licensure exams, provides accommodations on campus for two weeks, stipends for Fall 2019 semester textbooks, mentoring, professional development sessions and other valuable learning experiences for future teachers.
