Celebrating NSU on Founders Day

In 2015, the Board of Visitors of Norfolk State University passed a resolution formally establishing “Founders Day” events to commemorate the University’s founding on September 18, 1935. Since then, events are held annually on a day close to our anniversary date for faculty, staff, and students to pause in celebration of NSU’s rich past and promising future.

Norfolk State celebrates 84th Founders Day

Behold the green and gold, NSU’s weeklong Founders Day celebration continued Thursday morning with the freshman convocation.  Spiritual songs were sang and deep messages were spoken to the crowd of new Spartans.  From there, everyone made their way to the communications tower through a ceremonial walk. Leading the way was their marching band, the Spartan Legion. University officials rang the bell seven times for each NSU president. View article
