Fall Semester 2021 Updates

07/08/21
COVID-19 Update for Fall Semester 2021 | Printable PDF

Hello Spartans. We look forward to having you back on campus and safely returning to a more interactive and engaging school year. As you return to campus, there are two things you will need prior to Friday, August 6, 2021 at 5 p.m.

  1. Share your vaccination information with us
NSU Strongly encourages all students to get vaccinated against COVID-19 but is not required. Students who are vaccinated and share their proof of vaccination do not have to be masked outdoors, will not have to do daily symptom checking, will not have to participate in weekly testing during the semester, and if they do test positive, they will not have to quarantine unless they are showing symptoms.

You will receive an email to your NSU email address with a link to a quick survey (5 minutes) that will allow you to upload a picture of your vaccination card. Students are not required to show proof of vaccination but again, we highly encourage you to do so.

  2. Sign up for Return COVID-19 Testing
  • All students regardless of vaccination status (residential and commuter) must be tested on campus before August 30, 2021.
  • The online scheduler will be open July 12, 2021 at 12 p.m. EDT until Friday, August 6, 2021 at 5 p.m. EDT. Appointments are on a first come first serve basis.
  • Residential students must be tested prior to checking into their residence hall.
  • Off-campus testing results will not be accepted.
  • All students must sign up for a return testing time using the information below.
  • If you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days, you must contact the Spartan Health Center at 757-623-3090 to be exempted from return testing prior to coming back to campus.
