Bibliographic Instruction
Bibliographic instruction guides students in processes of
research and investigation of topics using a wide range of sources.
A demonstration will be provided on how to access
indices and how to locate full-text journal articles.
Tutorials are available for downloading in iTunes.
Research
Assistance
The Virginia Beach Higher Education Center
offers a consultation service to students and faculty
involved in research. The purpose of this service is to
provide professional advice on research strategies so
students and faculty can obtain information pertinent to
their research projects. Assistance is available
to identify information needs, construct effective search
strategies, and to locate authoritative online resources.
Literary Review
A literature search is a list of references on a specific topic. This list may include journal articles or chapters of books. References are obtained by searching the Lyman Beecher Brooks library catalog; or our scholarly electronic database.
Once you have completed your literature search, all requests for articles must be submitted on the appropriate interlibrary loan form.
Interlibrary Loan
If the Lyman Beecher Brooks library does not
own the book or articles you require, you may request an interlibrary loan from another library.
Please note that Interlibrary loan requires approximately 7 to 14 days for delivery.

Delivery
Books and journal articles can be delivered to the
Virginia Beach Higher Education Center site for collection
in Room 146. To have materials delivered, you must have current
status as a registered NSU student.
