Practical Work Experience for Tourism and Hospitality Students (Practice Credit)

The Tourism and Hospitality Management Program requires all of its undergraduate students to gain practical work experience (800 field hours) within the hospitality industry prior to graduation. Students are encouraged to apply for summer employment and internships for the classroom break period beginning at the end of the Spring term (May) until the end of August beginning of the Fall term. In addition to course work, the program requires students to complete 800 clock hours of approved, professional work experience in the tourism/hospitality industry. A combination of full-time and part-time practicum assignments both on and off-campus fulfill this requirement.
