An Evening of Culture and Cuisine

Guest Celebrity Chef
The Norfolk State University Foundation invites you to the Taste of NSU — An Evening of Culture & Cuisine.
This signature event showcases NSU’s performing and visual arts students, as well as inspired cuisine from area restaurants and our very special guest, Chef Motier “Moe” Stevenson, owner of My Mama’s Kitchen in Norfolk. The Taste of NSU takes place Thursday, May 30, 2019, from 6-9 p.m. in the Student Center.
Chef Moe Stevenson had planned to become a psychiatrist and was attending Xavier University of Louisiana pursuing his psychology degree. But a summer job at Hell’s Kitchen in downtown Norfolk reawakened his passion for cooking. After graduating from Xavier University, Chef Moe and his brother Ashanti opened My Mama’s Kitchen. His cuisine is a mixture of French, Jamaican, Creole and Southern food influences. Every dish is made to order, comes from their soul and is made with love, just like Mama would make it.
