Refunds and Withdrawals

Refunds

The refund process will begin approximately seven working days after the last date of class cancellation. Refunds are given only after all University obligations are paid in full. Financial aid awarded but not received by the University is not considered in the refund calculation. Refund checks are mailed to the permanent address on file with the University.


Refund Period for Dropped Classes - Fall 2008

Any student who wishes to drop a class (or classes) will be refunded according to the following schedule:
 

DROP DATE CHARGES TO BE ASSESSED

Students who drop a class after January 24 will receive a “W” grade
and the dropped class will be included in the classes attempted.

Up to August 29 0% of Tuition and Fees
August 30 – September 4 50% of Tuition and fees
After September 4 100% of Tuition and fees

NOTE:  DROPPING A CLASS MAY RESULT IN A
   REDUCTION OR CANCELLATION OF FINANCIAL AID AWARDS.



Withdrawals

Any student who wishes to withdraw from the University must submit an Application for Withdrawal which may be obtained from the academic department, advisor or the Office of the Registrar.

NOTIFICATION SENT TO INSTRUCTORS DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN OFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL FROM THE UNIVERSITY


It is the students’ responsibility to follow and complete all procedures to withdraw from the University.


Withdrawal Refund Policy  - Fall 2008

Students may withdraw from the University until December 5, 2008. However, tuition and fee charges are adjusted on a pro-rata basis for students who withdraw according to the following schedule:

Sept. 6 – Sept. 13 20% of Tuition and fees + $50
Sept. 14 – Sept. 20 30% of Tuition and fees + $50
Sept. 21 – Sept. 27 40% of Tuition and fees + $50
Sept. 28 – Oct. 4   50% of Tuition and fees + $50
Oct. 5 – Oct. 11       60% of Tuition and fees + $50
Oct. 12 - Oct. 18   70% of Tuition and fees + $50
Oct. 19 - Oct. 25  80% of Tuition and fees + $50
Oct. 26 - Nov. 1   90% of Tuition and fees + $50
Nov. 2 and thereafter    100% of Tuition and fees + $50
 

Withdrawal from the University may result in a reduction or cancellation of financial aid awards.  Students receiving financial aid should contact the Financial Aid Office for complete information about their individual situation.

  • Federal Perkins Loan Program
  • Federal Pell Grant Program
  • Federal SEOG Program
  • Other Title IV Programs
