Payment
Information - Fall 2008
Payment of Tuition and Fees
All students are expected to pay prior balances in full before registration for
the current term. Students must satisfy current tuition, fees, room and meal
costs at the time of registration unless payment arrangements are made and/or
they have been awarded financial aid and other scholarships sufficient to cover
the cost.
Students who do not pay balances in full or make satisfactory payment
arrangements by July 31, 2008 will have their classes cancelled. Once classes
have been cancelled, students must re-register. There is no guarantee the same
classes will be available if re-registration is necessary.
The class cancellation process will occur on the following dates:
• Thursday, July 31, 2008 EARLIER DATE
• Friday, August 22, 2008 and
• Friday, August 29, 2008
E-mails will be sent to students notifying them of the pending class
cancellation process if financial obligations to the University have not been
met.
The last day to register or reinstate classes will be Friday, August 29, 2008.
Students with unpaid prior balances will not be allowed to register for any
upcoming semesters.
Non-University scholarships are not credited toward tuition, fees, and room and
board charges until funds are received; however, these awards may be counted as
expected financial aid when establishing a payment plan and included in the
total amount of aid that will be used toward payment of University expenses. A
copy of scholarship notifications should be sent to the financial aid office.
BOOKS AND SUPPLIES
Books and supplies are not included in the cost of tuition and fees and students
should be prepared for this expense. The average cost for new textbooks is $100
to $130 per class. Textbooks and supplies may be purchased in the University
Bookstore which is located in the Mills E. Godwin Building (Student Union).
SPARTANCARD AUTHORIZATION
SpartanCard authorization is available to students receiving financial aid in
excess of the total invoice amount. Students should be prepared to pay the cost
of books and supplies unless they are eligible to receive a SpartanCard
authorization.
All full time students (with no outstanding prior
balance) who are expecting a financial aid refund, are able to
authorize and place funds on their SpartanCards online. This self-authorization
can be done on SpartanShield using
SpartanCard Authorization link on the Main Menu. All other students
must fill out a SpartanCard Authorization Form
and submit to Student Accounts for funds to be placed on SpartanCard. You
may contact us for additional information.
