Servers Support
The Office
of Information Technology Server Team has the responsibility
for the design, installation, development, administration
and maintenance of Microsoft based servers (2000 and 2003)
and services. The services supported by this group
include: Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange 2000/2003,
Internet Information Services 5.0/6.0, File and Print, SQL
7/2000, SMS 2003, Software Update Services, Operations
Manager, Blackberry Enterprise devices, and SharePoint
services.
The server
team also installs and maintains various applications that
run on Microsoft Windows Servers. Other responsibilities
include backing up of NSU faculty/staff and student’s files
and databases, ensuring security policies are enforced,
documentation, scripting, automation and direct customer
support. Various other 3rd party applications
are installed and maintained by the server team, to
include: HP and Dell Server Management software, Web Trend
analysis, Server monitoring software, SPAM detection and
Antivirus software.
