Initial Licensure Programs

Requirements

Admissions

Admission to Clinical Experience

 

Applicants must pass Praxis 1. / SAT/ ACT

Must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.

Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and 2.75 in major.

Must submit a graduate application, 3 letters of recommendation, an official transcript, & a completed Certificate of Preliminary Endorsement Form 

Complete Program requirements 

 

Pass Praxis II & VCLA                                         

Must have a minimum of 18 - 24 semester credit hours in the content area in which candidate intends to teach.

Must pass Praxis 1./ SAT / ACT

Must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution.

Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and 2.75 in major.

Applicants must submit a Certificate of Preliminary Endorsement FormCPR 

 

Pass Praxis II & VCLA                                         

During the second semester of their sophomore year, students interested in teaching should submit an application for Admissions to Teacher Education to the Center for Professional Development with passing Praxis 1/ SAT/ ACT scores, as well as simultaneously complete an application for their junior field experience.

Students must have at least 2.5 GPA and 60 credit hours to apply.
