New Market Tax Credits

The RISE Campus^TM  is located within Federal and State Empowerment Zones; an Enterprise Community; a HubZone; and a Hope VI region.  These designations provide tax advantages to businesses and enable the City of Norfolk to stimulate economic development and community vitality.

Access to Expanded Funding Opportunities

A partnership with NSU and E²F can open doors for federal contract opportunities in research and development, applications, and commercialization that will otherwise not be available as individual entities. 

Proximity to Faculty and Students:

A partnership with NSU and E²F will enable prime access to students and faculty researchers, and present opportunities for industry researchers, academic mentoring, and instruction.  Such collaborative efforts can also fast-track the process of technology development and commercialization.
