Spartan Suites

Why not live somewhere that fits your lifestyle as well as your budget? Choose the comfort of our furnished apartments and the convenience of our all-inclusive package, so you’re responsible for your portion of the bills – not your roommate’s! We’re located on the campus of Norfolk State University, so you get the convenience of being within walking distance to your classes, and we’re right in the heart of Norfolk. When you’re not working on your degree, you can work out in our fitness center or enjoy shopping in the area’s newest mall, McArthur Center, which is located only minutes away in downtown Norfolk.

Need to study? Stay in your room or camp out in one of our private study areas (open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) or computer lab (open from 7am to 2am daily). Feel like company? Relax in the Spartan Suites lounge or your apartment with your own private bedroom. Whatever your desire, Spartan Suites has the answer. All of this without even leaving the building, so you will have the options and the freedom to live your life, your way!

Required Qualifications to Live in Spartan Suites

Spartan Suites is a residential community for upperclassmen. Applicants must have earned 60 credit hours or be at least 20 years old with a cumulative GPA of 2.6 or better. All residents must maintain a 2.1 or better while housed in Spartan Suites. Graduate students must maintain a 3.0 or better. Transfer students must complete one semester at Norfolk State University prior to being considered for Spartan Suites waitlist/eligibility.

Note: If you turn in an application and do not meet the requirements, your application will be kept on file; however, you will not be placed on the waitlist. We will check grades, age and credits at the end of every semester. If you have not been added to the waitlist or assigned a room within one year of submitting your application, you must re-apply for further consideration.

Also, please be advised that no numbers are assigned to prospects on the waitlist for a variety of reasons. If you call to check on the status of your application, we can confirm for you that we have received it and if you have been added to the waitlist. Graduate students and senior undergraduates are given first priority.
