Mission Statement

The Office of Residence Life & Housing seeks to create a living and learning environment that both challenges and supports the personal, social, cultural, and academic development of Norfolk State University students housed in campus residential hall facilities by providing safe, clean and well-maintained facilities to sustain an environment conducive to learning and enhancing personal growth.

STATEMENT OF PHILOSOPHY & GOALS

The Office of Residence Life & Housing adheres to a belief that on-campus student success is maximized through the guidance of personal and academic growth in a cooperative living and learning environment, which includes the utilization of educational, recreational, health and safety programming.

The Office of Residence Life & Housing is committed to regularly and effectively communicating with all of its constituents including students, parents, alumni, and the entire academic community in an effort to proactively address concerns, ensure organizational effectiveness, and to provide a learning environment focused on supporting the academic mission of Norfolk State University.

We, the staff of the Office of Residence Life & Housing, are committed to:
