SAFE SPACE

The purpose of a Safe Space program at Norfolk State University is to provide a “Safe Space” where people who have questions about gender and sexuality, whether in their own lives, in the lives of family and friends, or in the wider culture can go to discuss those issues.

Participants in the Safe Space program are considered “allies.” Participants may be hetero-sexual or may self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, but each is committed to provide a safe space for any student who needs assistance.
