There are eight residence halls and one apartment complex on the campus of Norfolk State University.

 Mid-Rise Residence Hall

Mid-Rise Hall, is a residence hall for upper-class females.  Each living space in Mid-Rise Hall is set in a suite style which includes a double or triple bedroom with a bathroom, and a living room area where students can entertain their guests.  Mid-Rise hall features an air-conditioned lobby where students can relax, laundry facilities and a computer lab with Internet and word processing capabilities.  This six story residence hall was built in 1992.

 Lee W. Smith Residence Hall

Lee W. Smith Hall, serves as a co-ed hall for upper-class students who are a part of the Honors Program or other designated academic programs. This three-story brick residence hall was erected in 1990 and was named for Lee W. Smith, a member of the Board of Visitors. Lee Smith Hall is equipped with air conditioners in each room for the resident’s convenience. Although it is a co-ed residence hall, each floor or wing is designated as male or female only. Lee W. Smith Hall has laundry facilities, and a computer lab that has Internet access.

 NSU is NOT responsible for the loss of or damage to any student’s personal property from any cause. It is strongly recommended that students purchase personal property insurance. Information on personal property insurance is included in each student’s housing assignment packet. Students may also request a brochure from our office at any time during the semester.
