What is the deadline for housing applications?
Summer 2009
There is no deadline for submitting applications

Fall 2009 Deadlines
Priority deadline for returning students- April 30, 2009
First time and transfer students- May 31, 2009

Spring 2010 Deadline
November 1, 2009

Can I send my application in after the deadline date?


Yes. We will try to accommodate as many students as possible. However, your housing preference or roommate request may not be possible after the April 30 for returning students and May 31st for freshmen.

Will I find out who my roommate is before I come to campus?

Both of you must have given permission to release your information on your housing application.

How much is the summer school housing deposit?
$65.00

Do I have to pay a summer school deposit if I lived on campus during the academic school year prior to the summer session?
No. Your $300 deposit will cover your summer session housing deposit requirement.

Do I have to pay my deposit and turn my application in at the same time?


Yes. You must submit a housing application to the Office of Residence Life & Housing regardless of your housing deposit payment process.

How will freshmen be assigned to a residence hall?


bullet New Freshmen are assigned to Babbette Smith North (females) and South (males).

bullet Freshmen DNIMAS students, Presidential Scholars, Board of Visitors Scholars, and Honors College students are assigned to Mid-Rise Honors Residence Hall.

bullet Limited space is available in Rosa Alexander Hall (females) and Samuel Scott Hall (males) for new freshmen on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Will a housing deposit roll over for a deposit for the Spartan Suites?

Yes. Students pay a $300 housing deposit each year. That deposit is good for housing in any residential facility during that school year.

Can students sublease their apartment in the suites?

No. The option to sublease is no longer available in Spartan Suites.

Where do students go to apply for Spartan Suites?

 Students who want to apply for Spartan Suites housing will need to visit the front desk of the Spartan Suites and pick up the housing application document from there.

What type of payments are acceptable for housing and where should I pay?


If you are paying your $300 housing deposit by check, certified bank check or money order, you may mail your application and deposit directly to the Office of Residence Life & Housing. However, if you are paying by cash or credit card, you must make your payment through the Cashiers Office. If you make your payment at the Cashiers Office, please remember that you must mail your housing application separately to the Office of Residence Life & Housing. Remember to note your receipt number.

Are housing deposits refundable?

No. Housing deposits are non-refundable except in cases where a deposit has been paid but there are no vacancies either on-campus or in temporary housing.

Is the housing application process different for transfer students?

Transfer students utilize the same housing application process as all of our prospective/current students.  You may indicate your Transfer Student status in the appropriate field provided on the application.
