Dr.
Adebisi Oladipupo received his Bachelors of
Science degree in Engineering Physics (Materials
Science) in 1980 from the University of Ife,
Nigeria. He received his Masters of Science (S.M,
1984) and Doctor of Science (Sc.D., 1987)
degrees in Materials Engineering from
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He
has been successful in securing research and
educational training grants from diverse funding
agencies and private industry. He has designed,
developed, and implemented computer applications
for self-paced learning and distance learning.
He is a co-author of three engineering textbooks
in Computer-Aided Design and has published and
presented his work at national conferences. He
has served as a technical reviewer for the
National Science Foundation (NSF), the U.S.
Department of Education (DoE), the U.S.
Department of Commerce, and major textbook
publishers. He has provided consulting services
for companies such as International Business
Machines (IBM), Lucent Technologies, and
Motorola, Inc. in the areas of pervasive
computing (programming of smart personal digital
assistants), wireless navigation systems, and
mobile smart agent development.
Dr. Oladipupo has an in-depth understanding of
networks, the Internet and its applications in
education and research. His knowledge of
information technology and its application in
higher education is very comprehensive.
Dr. Oladipupo is currently the Vice President
for Research & Technology and the Executive
Director of the Enterprise and Empowerment
Foundation at Norfolk State University. Dr.
Oladipupo joined the Norfolk State University
family in August 2000 as Associate Vice
President for Research & Technology after
enjoying a very successful tenure at Hampton
University where he served, in succession, as an
engineering professor, Assistant Dean for the
School of Engineering & Technology, and
Associate Director for Development. The breadth
and depth of Dr. Oladipupo’s knowledge,
experience, skills, and expertise give him a
unique perspective on how to create and grow a
first class program and how to build meaningful
and sustainable relationships with individuals
and institutions. |
