The University Police Department is dedicated to insuring that the educational and occupational needs of students and faculty/staff are met in a safe and healthy environment. The principal objective of law enforcement is the prevention of crime.

The University Police Department provides around the clock services throughout the campus and surrounding area.

Norfolk State University Police Department is located in the central area of campus across from the James A. Bowser Industrial Education Building near Gate 4 (Temporary trailers/Units I,II and III).
