 Parking Decals - Instructions

It is very important to properly display your parking permit to avoid receiving a citation.  Forgetting to display or improperly displaying a valid NSU Parking permit is the most common and avoidable reason for receiving a ticket.

Decals that are not properly displayed are in violation of the decal placement rule, therefore making that vehicle citable for an improper Display citation.  See the Decal Placement Diagrams below.

Following these guidelines will help you correctly mount your permit and help keep your parking experience trouble free.

Student, Staff and Faculty Decals

You have three (3) options for the display of your permit/pass.  You must use one of these three (3) options listed below. Failure to do so may result in the issuance of a parking citation for improper permit display.

Option #1:  Student Decal or Faculty/Staff with adhesive decals, please affix your decal to the outside of your left rear window.

Option #2:  Staff and Faculty Hang Tags & Temporary Passes, please hang the tag from your rearview mirror so that the permit faces outward and is clearly visible and readable through the windshield of your car while parked on the campus.

Option #3:  Contractor/Vendor, Loading Zone, Temporary Services (Employee) and Extended Passes. Place pass on the left front (driver side) dashboard of your vehicle. Be sure that your permit displays the current date and is parked in the area indicated.  Also be aware that the Contractor/Vendor, Extended, and Loading zone passes must be renewed every 6 months by memo, email, or fax to Parking & Transportation Office.

A 24 to 48 hour notice is needed in order to process pass requests.
