  1. "My computer has been quarantined. "
    • You now have restricted access to the NSU network only. This typically happens when a user is in violation of the network policy.

    • OIT Client Services cannot help you with this issue. Please contact the OIT Security Team at (757) 823-2916 or security@nsu.edu.

  2. "I'm going to purchase a PC, but have questions about specifications."

    • Please contact OIT Client Services at (757) 823-8678 for assistance.

  3. "Who do I speak to about creating a SharePoint site?"

    • OIT Client Services cannot help you with this request. Please send a request via e-mail to the OIT Server Team at serverteam@nsu.edu.

  4. "Is it true that the OIT HelpDesk Office has relocated?"

    • The OIT HelpDesk has relocated from Lyman Beecher Brooks Library to the Marie V. Mc Demmond Center for Applied Research, 1st floor, room 103 C.

  5. "Who should I speak to about reserving a conference room in the Virtualization and Collaboration Center (VCC)."

    • All questions concerning events taking place in the VCC, including reservation requests, should be forwarded to Mark Eulo at meulo@nsu.edu.

The OIT Help Desk, PC, and Lab Technicians are now classified as one unit, Client Services, further defining how we work together as a team to support the Norfolk State University community’s technology needs. The team will adhere to the OIT Mission Statement and strive to deliver exceptional customer service in meeting the needs of our faculty, staff and students.

MyNSU Campus Portal

The The MyNSU Campus Portal project is underway! MyNSU Campus Portal will give a consolidated web presence for NSU systems such as Datatel Colleague, Spartan-Shield and Blackboard. Use of the portal will al-low ehnahced integrated communications and increased collaboration opportunities for faculty, staff and students all within a personalized web view.

 
OIT Supports Going Green
Through the use of server virtualization and the use of power and cooling efficient servers, such as Dell and HP, OIT is demonstrating its commitment to providing energy efficient ways of doing business and moving into the "greener" way of doing things.

What's in IT for students?
 
E-mail for Life

All NSU Students now have email hosted on the Microsoft Outlook Live service. Students now have access to a much larger mailbox size and new features, such as the ability to use a variety of mobile devices to access e-mail, file storage and sharing, instant messaging, texting, blogging, directory and mapping services. Addition-ally, the Outlook Live e-mail address will remain active for life, providing a consistent point for contact and communication.
