Admission Criteria | Program of Study

Admission Criteria

Admission to the Upper Level Baccalaureate Program in Nursing is competitive and open to qualified students. The minimal admission criteria are:

  1. Admission to the University by February 1 for Fall Admission; August 1 for January Admission
  2. A cumulative grade point average of 2.5, and C in the following courses: Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology
  3. Completion of pre-requisite courses or credit by examination (CLEP or ACT)
  4. Receipt of official transcript(s) from previously attended college(s);
  5. Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  6. Two units of math, one of which must be algebra: A minimum grade of “C”.
  7. Persons who have not taken Chemistry in high school or college must take a college chemistry course and a minimum grade of "C".
