 Norfolk State Announces New Foundation Board Members

Norfolk, Va.— Norfolk State University officials announce the following appointments to the Norfolk State University Foundation:

Glenn R. Carrington, the national director for client services at Ernst & Young LLP. He also serves on the U. S. Executive Board. As national tax director for client services, Carrington focuses on serving clients in the areas of corporate, tax accounting and financial transactions. His career spans more than 20 years and includes positions in private practice and government. More than half of his career was spent as a partner with major accounting firms. His affiliations include the ABA Taxation Section where he serves on the ABA Tax Section’s Council. He has also served as chair of the ABA’s Government Relations Committee. Carrington is an NSU alumnus and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is also listed in the corporate tax section of the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers.

Robert Franklin Hagans Jr., a Norfolk attorney. Hagans is a registered agent and is a member or has been a member of several professional organizations including, the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association and the Old Dominion Bar Association. His nonprofit affiliations include a previous seat on the NSU Foundation Board of Directors, the Virginia Beach School board where he served as a member and chairman, past chair of the Virginia Beach Community Services Board and the Virginia Beach Economic Development Authority, where he is one of only two African Americans that have ever served on that board. He is also chairman of the City of Norfolk Employee Grievance Panel. Hagans earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard University and a Juris Doctorate from the College of William and Mary.

Kimberly N. Holland., president and CEO of Icon Management. Holland represents a group of elite track and field stars which include Olympic gold medalists and has amassed an impressive record of success in the sports industry. A Washington, D.C. native, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Norfolk State University and a Juris Doctorate from Regent University School of Law. Holland has been featured in several publications including, Ebony, The Washington Post, USA Today, Atlanta Tribune, Sister 2 Sister and Uptown. She is highly sought after as a legal and sports expert and has spoken on panels that include BESLA, the University of Virginia School of Law, Howard University and the North Carolina Central University School of Law, among others. Black Enterprise named Holland, one of its most intriguing businesspeople of 2008.

Keith I. Jones, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Norfolk. The Rev. Dr. Jones served more than 20 years in the military as an Army chaplain. In that capacity, Jones was pastor for more than eight multi-ethnic congregations and was nominated by the Chief of Chaplains to serve as Pastor of the United States Army War College Memorial Chapel, which is the Army’s premier pulpit. He has also served as the director of Counseling Services at Hampton University. A Norfolk State graduate, Jones earned a master of education degree in counseling from Virginia State University, a master of divinity from the School of Theology at Virginia Union University and a doctorate of ministry in marriage and family from the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary at Eastern University and has been published in the Military Chaplain’s Journal and other pastoral care journals.
