Norfolk State Board Approves Tuition
Increase
Norfolk,
Va.— Norfolk State University’s Board of Visitors
approved an increase in tuition and fees for the 2009-10
academic year at its board meeting today. Beginning fall
2009, tuition and fees for in-state undergraduate
students will increase 5.6 percent or $312.10 per year.
Out-of state undergraduate students will see a 6.7
percent increase or $1,124.20 per year.
The
University anticipates higher operating expenses coupled
with drastic appropriation reductions. The planned
increase was offset by federal stimulus funding.
