NSU to Host 6th Annual Women’s Conference:
Reaching Higher Heights
Norfolk, Va.—Norfolk State University’s Virginia Beach Higher Education Center will host its 6th Annual Women’s Conference on Saturday, September 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel, located at 1900 Pavilion Drive in Virginia Beach.
This year’s conference theme, Reaching Higher Heights, will focus on making the most of your career to include professional growth and personal achievements. It will also feature information that will assist you in attaining and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Keynote presenters include NSU alumnus Denise Dowse, an actress and private audition coach. Dowse is best known for her recurring role as Mrs. Teasley on 90210. Most recently she appeared in Reign Over Me, Ray and Coach Carter. Other presenters include Dr. Denise Harris-Proctor, a physician at the Group for Women; Patricia H. Dillard, executive director of human resources for Norfolk Public Schools, and Francina Harrison, owner and CEO of The Career Engineer.
The cost of the conference, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch, is $99. Optional personal pampering sessions will include manicures, mini shoulder and neck massages, hand and arm exfoliating massage treatments, and facials which will be available throughout the lunch break for a nominal fee.
