Register Now for NSU’s 2008 Summer Scholars Program

Norfolk, Va.—Registration for Norfolk State University’s Summer Scholars program has begun, and will continue through June 12. The Summer Scholars program is a summer academic and recreation enrichment experience for children in grades one through five.

This year’s program will be held weekdays June 23 through July 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bozeman Education Building, which is located on the NSU campus.

The academic curriculum will foster learning in the subjects of math, foreign language, computer skills, music and more. Hands-on classes that enhance SOL math skills, spelling, vocabulary and beginning conversation in Spanish will be conducted. The full day program will also include a fun-filled afternoon recreational program that includes activities such as drama, swimming and sports.

The cost of the entire program, which includes registration, lunch and field trips, is $500. For more information, contact Ebyn Brinkley, program director, at 823-8701 or 823-8886.
