Edward W. Bullock to
Deliver
Keynote Address at
NSU Spring Commencement
Norfolk, Va.—Edward
W. Bullock, an NSU alumnus and vice president for
diversity of
L’Oreal USA, will deliver the keynote address at
Norfolk State University’s commencement ceremony,
scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, May 5, at William
“Dick” Price Stadium. The procession will begin at 9:30
a.m.
Bullock leads
L’Oreal’s diversity initiatives in its workforce, vendor
and community relations. He is responsible for
reviewing human resources representation, supplier
diversity, multicultural advertising, philanthropy and
all global diversity and inclusion training programs.
His team compiles a State of Diversity Report analyzing
results in five areas and provides recommendations for
improvement.
Under his
leadership, L’Oreal has won several major awards
including the 2004 Diversity Best Practice Global Award
for diversity efforts. In 2006, Bullock also accepted,
on behalf of the L’Oreal Group, the World Diversity
Leadership Council’s Corporate Diversity Innovation
Award at the World Diversity Leadership Summit in
Prague. Most recently, the company also received the
Diversity in Advertising Leadership Award from the
Foundation for Minorities in Advertising.
Bullock has worked
in employee relations, labor relations, career
development, recruitment, and college and community
relations while supporting the Corporate Manufacturing,
Research & Development, and Finance Divisions of L'Oréal
USA. He is the recipient of numerous awards such as the
National Council for Community and Justice Humanitarian
Award, The Distinguished Alumni Award from Norfolk State
University, the NAACP and Urban League Service Awards,
the American Association for Affirmative Action
Corporate Award and awards from Winston-Salem State
University, Rutgers University, Seton Hall University
and Young Scholars Institute. In 2006, Mr. Bullock was
selected as one of the Top 100 Blacks in Corporate
America by Black Professionals Magazine.
Bullock earned a
master’s degree in education from the College of New
Jersey and has completed several credits toward a
doctoral degree at Rutgers University. He is married to
the Rev. Joanne Boyd Bullock, and they reside in
Trenton, N.J. with their three children.
