NSU Graduate
Students to Participate in
State Research Forum
Norfolk, Va.—Five
Norfolk State University Graduate students will
participate in the Virginia Council of Graduate Schools’
Student Research Forum on Tues., Feb.6 at the State
Library of Virginia in Richmond.
The forum
highlights the work of graduate students and how their
research often contributes to the economic, social and
civic development of the Commonwealth. According to a
2005 report by the Council of Graduate Schools, half of
the economic growth over the last 50 years has been the
result of technological innovation, scientific discovery
and knowledge creation. Therefore, Virginia’s investment
in graduate education is an investment in Virginia’s
future.
The Norfolk State
University students participating in the forum are:
Javarro Russell, Master of Arts, Community/Clinical
Psychology; Angela R. Parker, graduate candidate,
School Counseling; Steven Oberlander, graduate
candidate, School Counseling; Tifanie Pulley,
Master of Arts, Criminal Justice; and Jeremiah
Williams, Ph.D., Social Work.
