Patricia
Russell-McCloud, a world-renowned orator and
author, will speak at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 10 at the L.
Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center. Free and open to the
public, she will discuss how academics are the key to
excellence.
Black Enterprise magazine has identified
Russell-McCloud as one of the top five business motivators
in America. She is the author of "A is for Attitude: an
Alphabet for Living," a book that uses the alphabet to help
its readers "reach their highest potential-now." She is also
known for her dynamic speeches to many corporations,
agencies, colleges and universities, school districts, and
various organizations.
For the last four years, Ebony
Magazine has named her one of the most influential people in
the United States and she has made such an impact everywhere
that she's has been awarded over 275 keys to American
cities.
Before embarking on a speaking career,
Russell-McCloud was the Chief of Complaints for the Federal
Communications Commission. She is a graduate of Kentucky
State University and Howard University School of Law. She is
a resident of Atlanta, Georgia. Russell-McCloud is married
to Bishop E. Earl McCloud, Jr. 127th elected and consecrated
Bishop, African Methodist Episcopal Church.
