NSU Hosts Community Forum Dealing with
Terrorism
Norfolk, VA - Norfolk State
University will host a community forum titled 9/11
Commemoration: Then and Now Monday, Sept 11 from 10 a.m.
to noon at the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center,
Room C.
Free and open to the public, the community
forum series is designed to increase community awareness
about current issues; assess socio-economic, political and
environmental issues facing our society; integrate immediate
strategies and proactive solutions into actions that will
promote the welfare of the community and University; engage
stakeholders in building community involvement partnerships;
and to promote NSU's commitment to community service by
providing information for faculty experts.
The forum panelists will be Byron Cherry,
author of the book Are We Safer Now?: Airline Security in
a Post 9/11 Society along with Carol Pretlow, NSU's
resident expert on terrorism. Attendees will be given
the opportunity to ask questions and get answers from the
expert panel.
Geared towards community leaders, grassroots
organizations, civic leaders, media representatives,
religious organizations and other interested organizations,
the forum will commemorate the tragedy of 9/11, honor the
lives list, and discuss the country's progress.
