Norfolk State University Makes
Provisions to Accept Students from the Gulf Coast
Norfolk, Va.— In response to the tragic events
occurring in the states of Louisiana, Alabama and
Mississippi, Norfolk State University will extend
registration for students who planned to attend college
in those states. The university will make flexible
registration and tuition payment arrangements for
students through September 6. Impacted students, who
will be treated as transfers, will have access to the
NSU Counseling Center, academic advising and counseling,
tutoring, and other university services. In addition,
NSU will work through the School of Social Work to link
students with appropriate social service agencies for
relief assistance.
Norfolk State University is soliciting contributions
from students, faculty, and staff to assist the victims
of Hurricane Katrina. Contributions should be made to
the Norfolk State University Foundation for the
Hurricane Victims Relief Fund. Send contributions to
